Tales of Triumph 2019 – Celebrating Remarkable Women Entrepreneurs

At its 8th annual event in honour of International Women’s Day, Artistri Sud will be celebrating three remarkable women and a male mentor in the Montreal community who exemplify Artistri Sud’s commitment to empowering women through entrepreneurship (see In Brief below for more details).

Two of these awards are open for nominations as of January 7, 2019. We want to honour women in our community who help further women’s empowerment through entrepreneurship and who use business innovatively to help solve a pressing social issue. Of interest are women who are role models and decision-makers who are making waves in communities, creating change and raising awareness about important social issues from a business perspective.

The Awards

Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award: In recognition of a remarkable woman who uses business to effect social change or achieve a social purpose. Nominees for this award can be entrepreneurs or leaders of for-profits whose primary purposes are social, or non-profits who are using innovative business solutions to pursue a social change objective.

Entrepreneur of the Year Award: An award irecognition of a remarkable woman entrepreneur. Nominees in this category should demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and be majority owners or leaders of businesses who have experienced good growth and have the potential for more.

The Lifetime Achievement Award: To recognize and promote a woman’s outstanding contribution in the field of entrepreneurship. This contribution may take the form of innovation, variety, success over time, improvement of the field, or other. Importantly, the contributions should be above and beyond the everyday and serve as an inspiration to other women in the sector.

Outstanding Male Supporter of Women’s Entrepreneurship: In recognition of a male leader who goes out of his way to support women’s entrepreneurship. Nominees should demonstrate leadership, inclusion and support of women in their business practices.
